Well it is true, it's not so much as sticking pencils in my afro but it's more like a magnet that attracts everything possible due to an immense amount of epicness contained within it. Sometimes I like to eat cereal. True story. However, these are just a small amount of my amazing achievements and Chuck Norris himself can testify that I am one of the few beings that are more gracious than him when it comes to speaking in Russian. I am also proud to be friends with the one and only Old Spice man...

It's been a fun week here at Edit on a Dime, and not just because I drove around LA for an hour with an iPhone taped to the hood of my car for a review. Here's what I was up to:

Time-lapse photography used to require expensive and dedicated equipment, but in today's futuristic world, we now have easy access to universal machines like the iPhone, which are pretty much tricorders.

Silhouette photography is a wonderful way to add a hint of mystery and drama to your shots. For this week's Phone Snap Challenge, we want you to try creating some silhouette photography of your own. Post your image to the corkboard by Monday, January 9th at 11:59 pm PST for a chance to win a SuperHeadz Ultra Wide and Slim 35mm Camera.

If you slept in during the peak of the Quadrantid meteor shower this morning, don't fret, because plenty of early risers did manage to wake up—with their cameras. Even if you did wake up and managed to withstand the cold morning air, you might not have seen anything. Cloud cover could have made it impossible, as well as bright city lights. But some stargazers made it their mission to photograph the Quadrantids, and lucky for you, they did.

Two weeks ago I reviewed browser-based video editor WeVideo and was amazed. Amazed not because WeVideo is a competent iMovie replacement for the casual editor (which it is), but amazed that a browser-based editor can work at all.

There's a race on to see who'll be the Instagram of moving pictures. This makes sense, since many of our phones are clogged with video that, so far, no one is going to see. Wouldn't it be great if there were a simple app that could take our video content, edit it for us, and then publish it to all of our networks?

Will the world end this coming December? If you believe all of the Mayan calendar hype, maybe. But whether you believe that doomsday is coming in 2012 or not, you can rest assured it won't be from a planetary collision. At least, according to NASA.

This goes through to a how-to on how to make a skein winder.  For the uninitiated, a skein is the default unit of thread, and it's that windy log that yarn comes in as well.  With this snappy tool, you can wind your own skeins as well.  If you combine that with the newspaper into yarn concept, you can make your own yarn and wind your own skeins when you're done.
