I have to admit that I am an environmentalist wacko. That may sound strange, considering my life is tied up in PVC, which is considered one of the most poisonous materials on earth... but it's true. I love this planet, and I want it to be inhabitable for as long as the sun is in this phase of its life.

This week, in addition to the double exposure weekly challenge, we have a promotion specifically for iPhone users. The International iPhoneography Exhibition has asked for Phone Snap's best iPhone shots to enter for a chance to win a spot in the exhibition which will be taking place on December 16-22 at The Soho Gallery for Digital Art in New York City.

Achievements in Minecraft are a pretty recent addition to the game. A welcome one, if you ask me, as it gives you some decent goals to work towards.

As someone who always got lost at the end of 343 Guilty Spark in the original Halo, trust me when I say that this video rocks. Heck, you'll even get the achievement 'Breaking Quarantine' if you follow this tutorial to a T. All you have to do is escape from the Flood quarantine zone in under 21 minutes. Do this, and you'll get a sweet 25G.

Wraiths suck. Just a simple fact that you learn fairly early on in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. So let's go hunting!

As a big fan of the Dark Brotherhood in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, getting this achievement was an awesome moment. It's the final mission you'll complete for the Night Mother, as you slay the Emporer himself. Getting to that point takes some time, though. Let this great video show you the best way to do the deed.

Stuck trying to find Liar's Retreat in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim? Well, you're in luck. Check out this video, which details how to get to the mystical location. Your reward? Getting to Liar's Retreat, of course! Oh, and there may be some treasure within. I'll never tell!

This one requires a big choice on your point. In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, there's a civil war going on between the Imperials and the Stormcloaks (Skyrim natives). What it boils down to, is that you have to make a choice to join either the Imperials or the Stormcloaks, and help them advance their cause. Either way you go, you'll get the 'Taking Sides' achievement, which will get you 10G on Xbox 360, or a bronze trophy on PlayStation 3.

Here's a nifty little exploit for you Xbox 360 people playing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. If you're tired of waiting ten seconds while you wait ten hours in-game, just bring up your Xbox guide by pushing the Xbox button on the controller. It's easy as that!

These boxes are inspired by a comment from Imaatfal Avidya on a corkboard post on Platonic polyhedra from sonobe units. Imaatfal was commenting about how the cube and octahedron are related to each other.

One of the best things about The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is the ammount of flexability there is in how to carry out a quest. And one of the best quest lines in the game is for the Dark Brotherhood. You know, the evil scumbags that are pretty much hire blades within the game. My favorite mission actually happens pretty early on in the quest line. The mission requires you to slay the emporer's niece, Vittoria Vicci, on her wedding day.

The first Phone Snap challenge has come to an end and we have a winner! Congratulations to Rob Sawyer, for his funny and creative spin on the infamous Play-Doh character, "Mr. Bill gone MAD!!!".

After a stressful day, there's nothing more relaxing than a smooth glass of straight, room temperature whiskey to help unwind. On hot days, popping a few rocks in does the trick. And on cold days, hot toddies are truly amazing.

Imatfaal's awesome post on Escher's tessellations on Polyhedra reminded me of some ornaments I made this summer.  I made some of Escher's square tessellations onto cubes and then reprojected them onto spheres.  I actually used a 60 sided Deltoidal hexecontahedron since that net is fairly easy to fold and looks pretty round.

It's once again Monday, which means it's time to highlight some of the most recent community submissions posted to the Math Craft corkboard. I also thought we'd take a look at building a model that has appeared in numerous posts. It's the simplest of the intersecting plane modular origami sculptures: The WXYZ Intersecting Planes model.

Time to brush up on your bartending skills! Everyone should be able to mix the staples—especially the bourbon staples. Browse the gallery below to view three demonstrations on mixing classic bourbon cocktails such as the Manhattan, the Old Fashioned, and the Mint Julep.

Meat and bourbon is a delicious marriage—whether it's bacon-infused bourbon or bourbon drenched steaks, or perhaps the most ingenious combination of all: bourbon-spiked chilli.

Snow Angels:

I spent a little bit more time making 6 sided Kirigami Snowflakes using the method of this post.  I'm really happy with how all of these turned out.  I'd love to see other people post up some snowflakes.  They're easy and a lot of fun.  And I could use some more inspiration!

This week's post on creating 6-sided Kirigami Snowflakes got me interested in seeing whether I could use the process to create tessellation snowflakes using the method. I still haven't succeeded, but I did decide to make some ornaments based off a few of the tessellations by M.C. Escher that have a 6 sided symmetry.
