Whoa, presenting the world's hugest, tallest, largest Treehouse built by Horace Burgess of Crossville, Tennessee.

According to USA Today,

"It rises 97 feet into the sky, the support provided by a live, 80-foot-tall white oak 12 feet in diameter at its base. Six other trees brace the tower-like fortress...

The treehouse has 10 floors, averaging nine to 11 feet in height byBurgess's reckoning. He has never measured its size but estimates it tobe about 8,000 to 10,000 square feet. He did count the nails that hehas hammered into the wood — 258,000, give or take a few hundred. Andhe guesses he has sunk about $12,000 into the project. Most of his materials are recycled pieces of lumber from garages, storage sheds and barns..."

Oh and apparently Burgess' DIY spirit was funneled to him via the Lord himself. His plans for the treehouse came to him through a divine vision to build a heavenly reaching structure. It does stretch pretty high, check out the images below.

Now that took some skill, I'm sure the trees will either grow around the infastructure or not.

The Lord? How does this tree bring people to a relationship with Christ...curious. Kudos for using recycled lumber, but your quest will most certainly kill the tree. I believe the first two photos show no less than two good sized suckers already growing from its base root system. Your creation looks cool just the same. I'd like to run around in it like a big kid!

It is sitting on the ground, so I say it's not a tree house. To be a tree house, it would have to be up in the trees, not just a big house with trees growing through it.
