How to make sugar glass breakable props

In the movies, when they break glass over someone's head, like a beer bottle, a dinner plate, wine glass or a window pane, they usually don't use real glass... they use sugar glass. This is the perfect concoction for your independent filmmaking.

This video will show you just how to make sugar glass breakable props. To get this sugar glass to shatter into a million shards, you'll need: light corn syrup, cream of tartar sauce, water, lots of sugar, a candy thermometer, a cookie sheet (or tray) and an aluminum mixing bowl (it has to be able to sit on the stove).
