Hello all you Judaists out there, you're about to watch an episode of "The Adventures of Todd and God," which is a new educational cartoon developed to help teach young Jews about Judaism.
This video will show you how to light the Hanukkah candles, or Menorah, with Todd and God. Instead of Christmas, Judaists celebrate Hanukkah, or Chanukah. Chanukah is a lesser Jewish festival that lasts eight days from the 25th day of Kislev (December), and commemorating the rededication of the Temple; it is marked by the successive kindling of eight lights.
This instructional cartoon will show you how to light the Menorah on the eight days of Hanukkah. In Judaism, the Hanukkah Menorah (also called the Chanukkiyah) is a sacred candelabrum, spouting eight branches for candles. There is also a ninth holder (shamash) to hold the candle that is used to light all of the other candles.
The Adventures of Todd and God - Theme Song
"It started when a boy went to clean his menorah,
And a magical friend came to help him learn torah,
He's magnificent, omnipotent, preeminent, omniscient,
It's the Adventures of Todd and God!"
