Ruger 10/22 rifles are ideally suited for informal target shooting, plinking, small game hunting, and action-shooting events. Many models exist, including the standard 10/22 Carbine, the Ruger Deluxe Sporter, the Ruger All-Weather 10/22, Rifle models, a Compact model, and a Target model.

The benefits of the Ruger 10/22 are many, and vary by model. The standard 10/22 Carbine, virtually unchanged since introduced in 1964, is the most popular .22 rifle of the last 40 years; the Ruger Deluxe Sporter features a cut-checkered walnut stock with a flat buttplate; the Ruger All-Weather 10/22 features a stainless barrel, clear anodized rust-resistant aluminum alloy components, and a durable synthetic stock; Rifle models feature a flatbutt plate and longer barrel; and Compact models feature a correctly proportioned but shorter stock and barrel. Also available is a Ruger Target Model 10/22, featuring a heavy hammer-forged target crowned barrel, laminated stock, and target trigger.
