Based in Santa Monica, we don't have much occasion to go hunting or clean skulls. We could, but we just do not.

Our American Taxidermy instructor is using borax, bleach, tide detergent, and scrub brushes. He is cleaning a deer head with antlers, called a European mount.

Nary a ichhh or an ewww in this specialized video. These taxidermy professionals are cut from the cloth of our founding fathers.

At WonderHowTo, we love the extreme diversity of interests. I have long been curious about taxidermy. And frankly, until we came across these excellent tutorials, I had never seen the process.

Well, learn the fine art of taxidermy from this most authentic source.

Tomorrow, we shall continue our animal theme. But with live animals.

Extremely helpful... however, it was not said in what state the skull started out as (strait from the butcher, found outside, etc.)

This was very informative. I just wished he would provide instructions on how to remove gold fillings out of the teeth that had dental work. Grandma made many visits to the dentist and I'm trying to cash in on whatever I can. Also, the coat hanger trick worked really well for me.
