"I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger." - Heath's Ledger's Joker

In this video tutorial series, Professional makeup artist Roger Bennett Riggle shows how to create the scarred Joker makeup that Heath Ledger wore in the latest Batman movie that broke records everywhere-- "The Dark Knight."

First, you'll find out what materials you need to make the gothic, wry Joker, like spirit gum for the facial textures, and liquid latex for the smile scars. After you find all of the makeup and other items for the Joker, you'll start to apply the molding wax, which leads to applying the liquid latex. After that, apply the white or cream base coat and start on the detailed work. Maybe fix your hair a bit and you have a finished scarred and witty Joker.

Now you're ready to win best costume for that Halloween party later.

The guy uses molding wax and spirit gum, which will last about 15 minutes.. not really the way to go.
There are prosthetics out now and real makeup kits with adhesives that will actually hold the pieces.. at www.fxwarehouse.net or scifimakeup.com

This guy calls himself a professional and he is utterly terrible. I went out as the Joker and had kids hiding behind parents. Here is what you need:

1. Rigid Collodium.
2. Fake Skin
3. Somewhat good make up.

Apply the Collodium to make the appearence of scars. It will contract the skin and make it look realistic. Do at least 10 applications. It will take you off guard because it looks very real. Then apply some fake skin around the scars. You have to wait for the collodium to dry after each application or it will mess up. Move your mouth a bit while applying or else opening your mouth could screw it up. Then apply the make up.

No I don't have a video, but you can find a bunch on you tube. You don't need the fake skin if you do the collodium well enough.
