How to use a piping and welting accessory on a sewing machine

Watch this video sewing tutorial and learn how to use a piping and welting accessory on a sewing machine. Use a piping and welting accessory with a piping and welting foot to bind and guide piping and gimp between fabric layers. Set the machine for a 5-thread safety stitch wide or two-thread chain stitch. Attach the accessory holder assembly to the machine. Attach the piping and welting accessory to the assembly. Insert the cord in hole of piping and welting accessory. Cut a strip of bias fabric 1 3/8 inch wide. Cut one end at a 45 degree angle and insert into the guide surrounding the cord. Place the bias fabric and cord under the presser foot. Lower needles into bias fabric on the right side of cord and lower the presser foot. The cord should be positioned in the foot groove and to left of the needles. Place one fabric piece right side up under the bias strip and a second fabric piece right side down on top of the bias strip. Sew, checking that cord, bias and fabrics are guided correctly.
