Understand art at the Budapest Fine Arts Museum

The Museum of Fine Arts-Budapest was built in 1906 during the Golden Age of the Austria-Hungarian monarchy, in a turn-of-the-century style with evidence of Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque eras. The Museum of Fine Arts has a world-famous Spanish collection with important artists like Velazquez, El Greco, and Goya. The Italian gallery includes such greats as Raphael, Giorgione and Correggio. The modern French collection includes artists such as Courbet, Manet, Monet and Toulouse-Lautrec. The museum also has a big collection of Dutch art as well as modern art, Egyptian art and graphic art.
