Check out this skateboard video tutorial to learn how to perform the trey flip trick. Learn from Danny Way, the professional skateboarder who rode the Great Wall of China.
Getting started with the trey flip, foot placement is key. Place your front foot as if you were doing a kickflip, but not so square on the board though; point it a little forward. Put your back foot on the end of the board tail, but hang your toe over the edge a bit, so you get a sort of a coop effect as you're flipping the skateboard.
Danny Way says the key to the trick is timing. Scooping and popping your board and then rolling your toe up the side of the board when it's at a 45 degree angle, to give it the flip.
If it all goes well, you'll be the next Danny Way. All you have to do is land.
