Travel with a cat on an airplane

Super Fly Life brings this traveling video tutorial to teach you how to travel with a cat on an airplane. Traveling and need to fly with your pet kitty? Learn these five travel tips, from cat carriers to travel accessories to supplies, go with style and grace.

As anyone in the Super Fly Life can tell you, good men and women take care of their four-legged friends. Since we know that airline travel can be so tough on our cats, we recommend that you, figuratively, walk in your pet’s paws for a moment before you think of sticking Mittens or Mr. Cuddles in the cargo hold for five hours.

1) SHOP EARLY

The big key to traveling with your cat is to book the trip as soon as possible. The reason this is so important is that many airlines restrict
• the number of pets on any given flight,
• how long the pet can be on the plane,
• the max temperature it could get in the cabin or cargo hold.

2) BOOK MIDWEEK AND NON-STOP FLIGHTS

Flying during the week, when it’s less busy, and locking in non-stop flights will help you give your pet a more pleasant experience, instead of trying to claw out your eyes next time you sleep.

3) NOTIFY THE AIRLINE EARLY

Let them know that you are traveling with your favorite pussy… cat. So just like in Chicago elections, where they vote early and vote often, make sure you book early and talk to your carrier often. Let them know your needs and they will help you.

4) PREPARE YOUR PAL FOR TRAVEL

Purchase your airline carrier and leash 30 days before the trip. Let your cat get accustomed to the inside of the carrier by placing their favorite toys and treats inside. Yes, it is a bribe, but it works.

5) TAKE KITTY TO THE AIRPORT

Cats and other pets must be on a leash at any airport, so take your kitty to the airport a week early with their leash on, so they can get used to the environment. This will make it easier to hit on the ticket girl or that strapping co-pilot.
