How to train a horse to shake hands

Watch this instructional video to train a horse to shake hands. Start by tying a rope around his left foot. Progress to using a wand to tap the outside of his leg to ask him to shake hands. Finally, work your way up to asking for a shake of hands with no rope or wand. Just extending your right hand forward and say shake. One safety consideration here is that the horse may offer to shake even when you don't ask during the session. A good safety note is to watch out for this "unsolicited" trick.
