Tie the bowline on a bight knot for boating

This boating knot, bowline on a bight, forms a bowline in the middle of a line. Watch this boating knot instructional video to learn how to tie this particular knot like a pro. Useful for boating when you want a nonslip loop but a free end isn't handy. Double a section of line and form an eye in the doubled line. Pass the free end up through the eye forming a double loop below the eye. Spread open the free end and pass it over the double loop and up past the eye, ending above the eye and around the double standing line. Tighten down the boating bowline on a bight knot by holding the doubled standing line and pulling on the free end side of the loop until it snugs up against the eye. Hope this helps! Enjoy.
