How to test and replace your car's carburetor choke

This video tutorial will show you how to test and replace your car's carburetor choke. To service the choke pull-off, first remove the air cleaner; inspect vacuum hose and connecting linkages. Apply twenty inches of vacuum by starting the engine or connecting a hand vacuum pump. If using the hand vacuum pump, check for bleed hole and cover it. Disconnect the vacuum hose and remove the mounting screws. Disconnect the linkage and remove the pull-off from the carburetor. Compare the old and new pull-offs, then position the new pull-off and reconnect the linkage. Reinstall the mounting screws and vacuum hose and check and adjust as per Haynes Manual.
