The only problem for this trick to work is that usually (at least where I live) the computers in the stores are either turned off or locked, so you cannot access the files on the computer. So I think it would be better to build an USB device, which automatically transfers all data from a computer, when attached into a USB slot. And I doubt that computers in electronic stores have got lots of data in them. And if there is, I doubt it is useless. Though now I started to think that how do you transfer the stuff from the USB stick, without sucking data from the computer, you are trying to put the data on... It seems it certainly needs a bit of thinking.

Or you can go to the piratebay.org and download all the latest software for free and not risk getting busted by store security. This software is installed. Most programs require an installer. Something I doubt will be lying around a computer that has the software already installed.
And why do you need a portable hard drive for this? You could buy a high-capacity USB thumb drive, attach it to a computer discreetly, start copying whatever you need and not have to keep your arm in the same spot with the chord waiting for things to copy.

And once you download the torrent, a little window will pop up on someone else's computer, telling them exactly what you have and where you are, and then they can proceed to copy all YOUR files and give you a virus when they're finished. Torrents actually open your computer to everybody else with that torrent, and people can make programs to use torrents to steal from you.

It's retarded. You can download the latest software online. Software that likely has been pirated long before it even reaches a computer store.

I don't know how Mac systems work, but this will work with Windows-based systems. All most installers do is copy files to your hard drive, and create an entry in your system's registry. Go into C:\Program Files\ and drag the folder of the program you're looking for onto an external device. Unless the program installed two multiple locations (some programs have folders in hidden locations for various reasons), you'll have the entire program available.

Was she too hot or something for the nerdy sales reps to approach her?

But, they made it out as too simple. All the necessary files for the applications are usually not in one place. And most portable HDs that small only work with laptops.

torrents aren't bad, they don't open windows on other computers, they don't give you viruses, and this method of stealing software from the vidweo is #$%@ in the US. 99% of the stores that sell software don't have anything installed on the laptops on displayed. Niothing you would want at any rate. Photoshop ? no. Office ? no. screensaver and some backgrounds ? maybe, but why would you want it ? maybe some crap demos you can dl on your own. I have been dl'ing through torrentz for years, and have well over a terrabyte of junk. Also get all my 360 games that way. Good luck.

I find it hard to believe a stone fox like Jess wouldn't have a dozen geeky salesmen hanging all over her. Unless they were all gay:)
