Speed read

Speed read

Here Kris explains the principles of speed reading, and gives you a few exercises to try. You can increase from 150-250 words per minute to 500-1000 words per minute with a bit of practice taking your larynx out of the reading process.

Does this work? Is it real? I don’t want to try this for a year and find out it is bogus. It would be nice if you included the proof of his credibility in your intro. I guess I can find out myself, but I am too laaaaaaaaaaaazy.

Proof we don't read horizontally and rather in chunks:

fi yuo cna raed tihs, yuo hvae a sgtrane mnid too Cna yuo raed tihs? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can. i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. This last paragraph is Amazing, so cool. The link to speedreading.com which talks about vocalization and other tools is very informative. Thank you for updating the intro, I have to show this to my friends.

hmm good point, i tried it but it didn't work as intended :(
the reason it didn't was because i had to concentrate to say those thingsi had to say. The words never seemed to reach my brain then, thus making me looking at text without reading it. I read a text normally and it took me the longest time with full understanding. Then i tried another text useing this method, understanding about 10% of the story :/ maybe i haven't practiced the mothod enough?

How does one bypass the larynx...by using it??? Speed reading is entirely visual to brain comprehension, without using a larynx-bypass method of practice...No stagecoach is needed!

the human mind works 3 times as fast as your mouth can so if you read out loud it becomes very easy to become distracted and focus of it so why you can read so much in your mind your mouth doesn't do as well. so practice in your mind not your mouth it is easier
