Genelec's are like Guess Jeans. They are for people who think paying more gives you a better product. Not the case. Find the speakers that work best for you. Ignore the idea that "more expensive" is better.

don't get fancy with mics? what? the sm57 and 58 have colouration in their frequency response as do almost all mics. and sometimes the colouration is useful depending on what you're recording. the 57 and 58 are coloured around the mid range making their pick up of vocals and guitar better, though for a kick drum i'd use an akg d112 for it's superior bass response. is this guy just trying to wind me up or something?
