Set up a crab habitat

Set up a crab habitat

This how-to video demonstrates the making of a "crabitat," or a crab habit. To make this home for a crab you will need: a cage, sand or gravel, hermit crab food, two dishes for food and water, stuff for them to climb on, and decorations.

What are you thinking, The sand is not deep enough, panted shells are harmfull to the crabs, the dishes are to deep and it is all in a plastic tank. Do not use this as a giude to hermit crab care as it is all wrong.

Your gonna need a bigger tank (10 to 20 gallons), your also gonna want to put enough sand to make it 4 to 5 inches deep in that 10-20 gallon tank. Food/Water need work to. For food, a decent sized shell will do, for water, just make it big enough so that your biggest crab can submerge itself but not so deep that it or the smaller crabs cant get out. Good judgement on the water choice, driftwood, and hut...but painted shells really are harmful to the hermit crabs plus they don't give a crap about color...

you got a lot to learn!!
