I think this video does a huge diservice to the public for its level of cynism. As an agent myself, I work with ethical and honest agents. I'd suggest that untrustworthy agents do exist but are the exception. According to the National Association of Realtors, agents on average get more money and sell in less time than people selling on there own. A homeowner needs to interview multiple agents before choosing the right one to sell their home. Creating such an adversarial situation will likely harm the professional realationship that should be created to have a smooth and positive experience with your agent. The only accurate part of this whole video is the statement about open houses; they sell 1-2% of homes accross the country. For that, I'll give this video a D-. Remember, most agents rely on repeat and referrals for their business. That leaves a lot of incentive to perform the task professionally and leave the homeowner (or buyer) happy at the end of the transaction.
