its not supposed to be a snake, it's supposed to be an unexpected thing popping out at you...and it would scare me, probably. I have to agree, the music was really..really..gay.

It's easier to make with needle-nose pliers. Also, you don't need to (and shouldn't) use copper wire. Just use coat hanger wire. Make it larger and use a larger button as long as it will work in the envelope you will use. Use two rubber bands and wind it up more so it spins longer and harder. You can also mark "Rattlesnake Rattles" on the envelop. That gets someone curious and puts their nerves on edge before opening the envelop. This is an old trick that I did many times as a trick and it works very well if you make the device correctly - not how it's done in this video.
