How to save paint brushes

There are 2 types of brushes. The natural brush is used on oil base products. To clean them you need a solvent of some kind. Wear gloves because solvents can be toxic. Dip brush into solvent and swish around, wipe with a good paper towel; continue to dip and wipe. You might have to use a brush/comb to get the clumps of paint out of the brush. When clean, dry off and make a brush keeper out of a plain piece of paper bag and attach with a rubber band. The second type of brush is a polyester brush. This brush is usually used with latex. To clean it you need warm soapy water and perhaps the brush/comb instrument. Dry and make a brush keeper.
