Learn the figure 8 knot to latch on a climbing harness. This is a simple knot that is like the sailing figure eight knot. It's used to go between your climbing harness and the top or lead climbing rope. This requires a latching or locking carabiner to afix the rope tied in a figure eight to your harness. This is a basic climbing skill.
