Ride the crash on the drums

Fill in the sonic cracks by using a ride the crash technique. Darren Matthes states that he uses a 17" Zildjian K Custom Dark and a 16" Zildjian that his high school was going to throw away because it had a crack in it. A music store in Iowa City removed the crack for him by cutting one side of the cymbal flat. He used emery cloth and steel wool to smooth out the edge.
