Don’t stay in the dark when you can replace a blown fuse in just a few simple steps.
You Will Need
* Access to the circuit breaker panel
* A flashlight
WARNING: Working with electricity is dangerous. Be extremely careful and, if you have any doubts, contact a professional.
Step 1: Turn off main power switch
Turn off the main power switch in the circuit breaker panel.
Step 2: Remove blown fuse
Unscrew the blown fuse and examine it with a flashlight. The blown fuse will look gray or cloudy.
Step 3: Replace fuse with an identical fuse
Replace the blown fuse with one that is the same brand and amperage. Screw it into the empty spot in the circuit breaker box.
Never replace a fuse with one of higher amperage.
Step 4: Turn power back on
Turn the main power switch on. Power should be restored. If the fuse repeatedly blows, consult an electrician.
