The AIR manifold stands for Air Injector Reactor manifold, and plays a key role in lowering hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) for the emissions system. First, visually inspect for corrosion damage on the injection tube and check valve; replace any necessary parts. Test the check valve by removing the air supply hose, checking for free air flow, removing the check valve and checking for no air flow on the opposite end of the valve. If needed, replace the check valve; coat the threads with anti-seize compound, install and tighten the valve and reconnect the hose. To replace the AIR manifold, begin with a cool engine, spray penetrating oil on the fittings, disconnect the tube fittings from the exhaust, disconnect hose from check valve, remove manifold, compare old with new, apply anti-seize compound, attach tube fittings to exhaust, reconnect the check valve and check for leaks.

There's many parts to your car; brakes, engine, starter, drivetrain, suspension, chassis, air conditioner, heater, electrical sensors, fluids, transmissions, radiators, oil, tires, spark plugs... this devices are bound to fail sooner or later.
