AT (Appalachian) "turn" blazes are not, unfortunately, always as described in the video. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy suggests how the "Trail Clubs" should paint the blazes but these clubs generally rely on volunteer labor to mark the Trail and they only get it right 3/4 of the time.

When hiking on the AT always stop and look around if you are unsure, many of the turn blazes will take you down old sections of the Trail - maybe not where you want to go. If in doubt follow the route that looks the most traveled.
