Don't think of a timeshare as a financial investment... think of it as an investment in your lifestyle and future vacations over the years. And if you do sell your timeshare ten years down the road for less than you purchased it for, that's not a loss because you wouldn't have gotten any money back from ten years of paying for hotels or motels, so you're still coming out ahead in the end.
