Practice the Maravich basketball drill ball circles

Practice the Maravich basketball drill ball circles

Learn how to improve your game with this basketball drill. Basketball drills are essential tools for a coach hoping to improve his team. This will be difficult for young Steve Nash Youth League players, but the older ones will be able to do it. Stand in a good athletic stance, resting a basketball out front, in one hand. The athlete drops the ball, circles his/her hand around the ball and then catches the ball with the same hand. Repeat several times. Initially allow the athlete to toss the basketball in the air but as he/she improves challenge him/her to simply drop the ball. For coordination, have the athlete circle his/her hand to the inside and to the outside, and with both the left and right hands. Notice the basketball does not spin; this is because Teresa is just dropping the ball.
