Make screw shoes for running on ice in winter

Make screw shoes for running on ice in winter

A simple step by step example of how to put sheet metal screws into the bottom of your running shoes so that you will be able to run in icy conditions without slipping. This is a great trick for runners to keep exercising and training through the winter months. Gauge how thick the sole of the shoe is before you install them. He uses 1/2 or 3/8" sheetmetal shoes. Use the 1/2" on the heel or in the whole shoe if you're trail running. A screwdriver is much more work than a drill. These are safer and help you keep your traction while running. Watch the wear pattern on the shoes. Start off with some and move up to more screws depending on the feel.
