Make potassium perchlorate and magnalium flash powder

Make potassium perchlorate and magnalium flash powder

In this pyrotechnic video tutorial you'll see how to properly make flash powder, a powerful mixture of metallic fuel and oxidizer. Flash powder is one of the most dangerous pyrotechnic compositions, because of its power and sensitivity. Never underestimate it. It's friction, shock and static electricity sensitive, but there are different degrees of mixtures. The safest known is the KCIO4:Al flash powder, which is potassium perchlorate and magnalium. This video will show you how to make a slightly different mixture, using the KCIO4 as an oxidizer, but using MgAl instead of Al as fuel.
