How to make an origami flower pot or basket

This origami video tutorial shows how to make a flower pot which can easily be modified into a basket. It's fun for holding origami flowers or as a home made Easter egg basket. Of course, you can just use it as a cute and decorative way to keep loose change or other knick-knacks.

You Will Need

* 1 square sheet of paper

Tip: Here’s how to add a handle to turn your flower pot into a basket. If you don’t want a basket, feel free to skip ahead to step 3.

Step 3. Step 3

Fact: I am folding these tabs with a slight angle… doing this gives my pot / basket a tapered look. If you want a more blocky / square look, fold straight across instead of at an angle.

Tip: You can use a tweezers or something pointed like a chopstick or ruler’s edge to help tuck these tabs in.

Fact: You can change the height and look of your pot / basket by changing how much of this pointed end you fold.
