Make a paper-mâché hat

Make a paper-mâché hat

Check out this fifteen-part detailed video tutorial on how to make a paper-mâché hat. Gene and Freida Wolden originally made these videos for a young friend named Haley, but now everyone can enjoy them and learn how to paper mache a hat.

NOTE: The paper that goes around our head should be 14-18 layers thick. So take about 7-9 pieces of paper and fold it over to make it strong enough! Don't forget this part!

Hi I enjoyed watching your video in Australia looking after my son in hospital. Couple of questions please? We don't have the Glad press down plastic can I use clingwrap instead? I noticed your dog creation and masks seem to have been painted and then lacquered what do you use? Acrylic paints, water colour and what type of varnish?
thanks Suzanne -
