Most people will work on an idea for a company for 2-3 yrs before they get the money. The best time to start a company according to Jerry is when everybody thinks it is impossible.

I do not think there is any best time to start a company. The best time to start a company is when you can get the financing. That is the most important thing. Your company won't be very successful unless you have the financing. Also the best time to start is when every body else is doing it rather than when no biody is doing it because people are doing it because they are able to get the financing for it and are able to sell the product. I'm very interested in starting a goat farm. Goat milk is very expensive and still it is being sold in the farms. I'd need abut $100,000 to start a goat farm with one hundred goats. If I could find ten investors who could invest $10,000 each today I would go look for a peace of farm land and my start milking my cows within a month. The advantage of selling milk is that no selling is required. You can bottlle it yourself and deliver it to the Supermarkets. People buy raw milk. Or you can sell it to the processor. But the money you'll get will be a fraction of the price at which the supermarkets sell the milk. Processed milk sells at a lower price in supermarket than raw milk. Also the stock market is now hot. Investors who get into goat milk start up companies will have a good opportunity to become rich. Of course investment is risky. Things do not always workout to be the way it was thought they would work. I think that goat milk will sell easily. If I'm wrong the investors could loose their shirt. Hence no investor should invest unless they they are able to loose their investment without becoming homeless. But if they can invest without becoming homeless they might turn a $10,000 investment into $1,000,000 (one million dollars). But beware of any body who tells you invest ten thousand dollars in my business today and I'll give you one million dollars within a week or a month or a year. No body knows when you'd get your investment back if at all. It is a very risky business. But I'm very serious about starting a goat business.
