How to keep meat safe
Food • Meat
There are a few guidelines for safe cooking. Always wash your hands. If you are thawing your meat in the refrigerator make certain it is covered. If you thaw in the microwave, never put the meat back into the refrigerator, always use immediately. When storing meat in a marinate store in the refrigerator and when you take the meat out of the marinate, throw the remaining marinate away. Use separate cutting boards for meat and vegetables and be sure to wash them. The last tip is always make certain that pork is cooked at 150 degrees F. That is the recommended done temperature of the USDA for pork.
