Instantly make hot ice

I have some. it gets realy hot. Same stuff that is in some of does hand and boot warmers that they sale at ski places for 2$ each little pack. Now If you or your freind have access to a food saver bag sealer you can make your own reusable hand warmers. the food grade bags used for "Food savers can be boiled and frozen. I keep some in my snowmobile.

i let my supersaturated liqued cool in the fridge overnight. when i checked it in the morning long (about 1.5 to 2 centimeter), very thin crystals had grown in the bottom of the glass. they survive at room temp to this day (about 3 weeks) in an airtight container. can some one tell me what they are? are they pure sodium acetate?
