This video tutorial will show you how to inspect and repair your car's carburetor power valve. To service the carburetor power valve (requires partial carb disassembly), clean varnish from the power piston, metering rods and piston well. Reinstall the power piston and reassemble the carburetor, replacing the damaged gaskets. The diaphragm-type power valve is replaced without the carburetor disassembly. Remove the float bowl on the Holley type, remove the cover and screws on the Ford type and use a proper wrench to remove the hex part of the power valve. Install the new power valve and gasket, reinstall the float bowl or cover and test drive your vehicle.
