Unless our budding security engineer was kidding, but his joke fell flat, he meant to say, "a thirty-second of an inch"; not "thirty-twoth." At least -- please, Lord -- his parents, who are paying for the advanced education which led to this earth-shaking development, certainly hope that's what he meant.
