Do tracheostomy suctioning via an inline catheter

Going to be a nurse? Then one of the things you should know how to do is a trach suctioning via an inline catheter. Watch this how to video as the nurse demonstrates a suction technique using sterile inline catheter. Always begin by cleaning around the outside of the tracheostomy. Adjust trach strap/ties. Follow along as they also demonstrate drainage, sponge, trach size, and trach cuff. Remember: Do not instill saline (lavage) unless absolutely necessary or ordered by health care provider or RT.
