How to do a Calf Stretch on Stair

In this lesson you will learn how to stretch your calf muscles on a stair. This stretch is very simple. Just be careful with your ankle - Don't squeeze the joint. The heel should touch the floor slightly, to avoid bad pressure in the joint.

Description: Calf Stretch on Stair

* Put the ball of your foot on the edge of a stair and let the heel rest on the next lower stair. You can also press you foot against the lowest step of a ladder wall.
* Extend the knee of leg you are stretching and press the heel down towards the floor. Heel touches floor slightly (this is to protect the ankle from bad pressure).

Trainer advice: Calf Stretch on Stair

* Warm up you legs and you ankle before you apply this stretch.
* Start your stretching routine with the lowest muscle, the calf muscle. Then stretch you quadriceps, your hamstrings, your hips etc.
