Back Handspring Twist

The back handspring twist or flic flac 360° is a technique especially for womens gymnastics. You can still learn it as its a very cool technique. Before you try this move, you should be able to perform a normal back handspring and a handstand.

Technical description: Back Handspring Twist 360

* Stand in an initial back handspring position
* Jump backwards and twist 180 degrees to your left side.
* Put your right hand down and imagine watching a clock on the ground.
* Twist 180° clockwise. Left hand touches after about 30 degrees.

Trainer advice: Back Handspring Twist 360

* Get a plastic bottle and paint a smilie on it. Simulate the twist with the bottle to understand why you have to turn clockwise when your right hand goes down.
* Do a backwards jump from something about 30 cm high into a frontroll before you start. (Only with very very very soft mats) The mats should also be about 30 cm high, so that you don`t lose jumping stregth because of the mats.
* Don't think of this move as a Flic Flac 360 at the beginning. Everybody makes the mistake to twist back after the first half rotation, so think of this move as FLIC-left-180°, Flac-clockwise-180°.
