How to do Handstand Pushups - Shoulder Strength
The handstand pushup is a shoulder strength exercise you can do instead of the military press. You can do this exercise if you have to train your shoulders, but don't have a gym nearby.
Description: Handstand Pushups - Shoulder Strength
* Go into a handstand position and place your hands pretty close to the wall. The hands should be a bit more than shoulder width apart and the elbows should be extended. At the beginning you can do handstand pushups with your hands on the flat floor, because it will be very difficult to do more than 5 repetitions. Later you can place your hands on something elevated or a training pod like the one shown above, so that you can lower your body even further and your shoulders are worked out better.
* Move down until your hair touches the floor and inhale. Move down slower than you move up and move concentrated. The heels slide down the wall.
* Then push yourself back up and exhale.

* You can also do handstand pushups with a training partner (training partner holds your legs).
* Also concentrate on a straight back to work on your handstand posture at the same time.
