It's valve jobs like this that keep mowers coming to our shop, I would advise obtaining a B/S service manual for about $8-10 and follow their instructions, I don't know where to begin on what he did wrong.

Hey thenn869, Sounds like you just don't know where to begin period. David's methods are simple, cheap, and they work. Guys like you are why I stopped taking my equipment to the 'factory' shop.
