Basketball drills are essential tools for a coach hoping to improve his team. The athlete begins in a squat position. The basketball will always travel in the same direction; often kids will make the mistake of stopping the ball out front and changing direction. The basketball travels around the legs, just below the knees. The pattern is as follows – 1) circle the basketball around both legs one time, then as the ball moves to the front drop one foot back and circle the ball around the front leg, 2) then as the ball moves to the front bring the leg back in and circle the ball around both legs again, 3) the final step is to drop the other foot back and circle the front leg again. Continue to follow the same pattern. Do the drill in the both directions. Learn how to improve your game with this basketball drill.
