Dissect a human peritoneal cavity and intestines

Dissect a human peritoneal cavity and intestines

This anatomical video tutorial will show you a deep look inside the peritoneal cavity and intestines of a human, much like yourself. If you're a medical student and you need cadaver dissection instructions, this anatomy video will help you along your way. Learn how to dissect a human for the peritoneal cavity and intestines. Beware, this is dirty business, so if you don't have the guts (get it... guts) then don't even watch let alone try it out in school or at the morgue.

1. Review the bony landmarks of the abdominal cavity.
2. Expose the abdominal organs by making a midline vertical incision.
3. Examine the abdominal contents, identifying organs, mesenteries, and their relationships.
4. Remove the peritoneum from the right side of the mesentery to expose and identify the superior mesenteric artery and vein and their branches.
5. Remove the posterior body wall peritoneum to expose the inferior mesenteric vessels.
6. Examine the jejunum, large bowel, cecum, and ileocecal valve and examine their interiors on plastinated specimens.
