How to descend the stairs jack-knife method with a prosthetic

Watch this short instructional video clip of Bilateral Above-the-Knee Amputee - Descending Stairs, Jack-knife Method and read the following step-by-step instructions to learn how to function with a prosthetic limb:

1. Place canes in left hand.
2. Place right hand on railing.
3. Place right foot in edge of step.
4. Place left leg out over next step.
5. Allow right knee to slowly flex bringing left leg down step.
6. Shift weight to left leg.
7. Bring right leg and the canes down to join left leg.
