This film was made to instruct police officers on the basics of childbirth and to show them an actual birth - mostly so they wouldn't panic or pass out when confronted with such a scenario. WARNING! The poor acting by actual police officers and doctors and low production values in this film make the live birth scene even more shocking than others from this genre.

Kind of a corny movie.... but the point gets across.

This is one of those things that everyone should know how to do, but everyone hopes they will never have to do it.

Sudden Birth was made in 1966. We were all regular Berkeley Officers, except the real Dr. who played Officer Bob. We were volunteered to do the movie. That slippery baby is now 43 yrs old. It was a great experience.

I saw this video in 1978 in basic training. It's ancient; they're in a 1954 Ford. The Dr & Woman are married to each other. When her water breaks in his face, WOW, looks like the ConeHead child being born..lol
