Squash is hard, round and slippery when peeled. Squash can be dangerous and difficult to cut. It is best to first stand it upright so it doesn't roll around when cutting. As with any hard vegetable, make sure you hold your hand over the top of the knife and then cut away with your hand. This is important due to the pressure you will need to apply to cut through the hard squash.
