Watch this video tutorial to see how to construct a wooden sword. Here, this particular sword is a European Knight sword. It's an easy wooden prop sword to make, not to mention a nice prop for your collection.
Part 1: See the materials needed to start constructing the wooden sword with pommel, like spray paint, a belt sander, a palm sander, a glue gun, sander blocks, painter's tape, a jig saw, a Dremel, X-acto blades, sandpaper (80, 60, 120 grit), and black cloth from a black t-shirt.
Part 2: Begin making your wooden European Knight sword. Draw the image of the sword with a pencil and ruler and begin to cut the sword with a jig saw, followed by a belt sander to smooth and finish shaping the rest of the sword.
Part 3: Begin making the fuller of the European Knight sword. Draw the line in the middle of the blade, then take the Dremel and begin to carve the groove out in the middle of the blade on both sides. Use a palm sander to smooth out the ridges left by the Dremel, maybe even use a sander block to help. After this, begin shaping the edge of the sword.
Part 4, 5 and 6: Begin making the hilt and pommel. Do the exact same thing... outline, cut, and shape.
Part 7: Start painting the sword and begin the handle wrapping, followed by any minor adjustments needed.
Part 8: See the final product.
