it's not extra virgin olive oil. it's extra LIGHT olive oil. And 2 Tblsp of olive oil is not detrimental to your health -- in fact the American Heart Association suggests a tablespoon a day for heart health. And so one extra one isn't going to harm your health.

Maybe you should read the book and UNDERSTAND the scientific reasoning before you condemn the diet. I've read it... it makes total sense to me. And if it does work, you'll be taking in LESS calories and losing weight... I'd rather be slim and take 2 T of olive oil and some sugar water than to be continually gaining weight year after year. Oh, and by the way, olive oil is a monosaturate. That means it is GOOD for your heart. I thought you were a dietician???
